It was good.
Hump Day
19 11 2008Getting towards the end of the week! I’m happy. Tonight we’re heading out to play some board games, which I don’t do quite that often. Perhaps we can play some Risk or something. Good game, that Risk. After that, we may be going to The Viking, to celebrate Jon’s last day as someone in their 20’s.
Better get back to work, I suppose.

This week?
5 11 2008Better than last week. Monday was productive.
Tuesday? Well, we know how that turned out.
Now I’m just trying to keep this good feeling going. Gotta get things done for America. Lots to do.

CAP Projects, stress, deadlines ungh
15 10 2008Well, being that I am a member of the Americorps, I am a full time member/volunteer. We work full time in positions that attempt to give back to the communities in which we live. For most members, its for long hours, and for very little pay. But hey, that is not the point.
Members are required to do, during their Term of Service, a Community Action Project. The project is planned during the majority of the term, then is executed at some point during the latter half. CAP projects are usually large enough that they require volunteers, budgets…all that fun stuff. This is all on top of what we are working on with our work sites. We get about 440 hours to work on this thing during the term, whew.
So, I’m a couple weeks from DEADLINE ONE, which requires me to have some of the planning already done…which is hard for one such as I who is not really creative in this department. So far, I have an idea of where I would like to do a project (West Central Neighborhood), but not much beyond that.
I’m not nervous yet, but November 1st is getting closer than I would like…
In other news, Jessica and I are going to another married couple’s house tonight for dinner (after we do some volunteer work). I’m pretty dang pumped for this, being that it is my FAVORITE DINNER EVER. Every year my brother and I convinceĀ our mother to make it for our birthdays. We love it that much.

Weekend Plans
10 10 2008This week has been kinda slow, work wise. Nevertheless, I am excited for the weekend.
My wife and I are going to do some volunteering up at a cub scout camp. What makes this awesome is that I get to let some kids do some BMX biking around a course at the camp. Sweet. We also get meals covered, which is always a plus.
Work work work.

Pumpkin
8 10 2008Yesterday was pumpkin day!
For dinner/dessert we had:
Pumpkin-curry soup with pumpkin bread. To go with that, pumpkin ale. After a nice evening near the fire, we settled down and had some warm pumpkin bread and PUMPKIN ice cream. In all, a great meal.
I think I had some pumpkin overload somewhere in there. Also, I forgot the camera to take a picture of all the food together. Darn.
Now I’m sick and not too happy. I’m working from home, which is probably the best possible situation right now, but still. Tomorrow I have some pretty serious meetings to have with people and I don’t want to be a zombie.
That being said, I flipping love Autumn.
